Socio-Economic Development of Indigenous People and Dalit Community

SARM Working in rural area in individuals, Communities for Development and Awareness initiatives for the Dalit community in Bangladesh can take various forms, including raising awareness about their basic rights, promoting gender equality, and increasing access to government services. SARM like Dalit and Harijon Community focus on human rights awareness and empowering Dalits to access their rights.

Key areas of focus for awareness campaigns:

Basic Rights:

Highlighting fundamental rights as outlined in the Bangladeshi constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Gender Equality:

Addressing gender-based discrimination within the Dalit and Harijon community, particularly focusing on the rights of Dalit women and girls.

Access to Services:

Raising awareness about accessing government services and civic engagement for Dalit communities.

Untouchability:

Addressing the issue of untouchability, a significant problem faced by Dalits.

Social Exclusion:

Recognizing and addressing various forms of social exclusion faced by Dalits in different spheres of life.

Health Awareness:

Promoting awareness about reproductive health rights, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

Education:

Encouraging education, particularly for Dalit girls, who are often marginalized.

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA):

An organization advocating for Dalit rights and livelihoods.

International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN):

A network of organizations working for the rights of Dalits globally.

Public Hearings:

Holding public hearings to amplify the voices of Dalit communities.
